Homemade Orange Ice Cream - magically delicious!!!

 

1 cup orange juice (preferably fresh squeezed and strained)

¾ cup 1% milk (or whole or 2% milk)

4 tablespoons heavy cream

2 tsp vanilla

1 cup sugar

2 raw egg yolks from a clean source

 

Mix the above ingredients in a blender, pour them into a container and let them freeze for 24 hours.  Then, in an ice cream blender, mix for two to five minutes. Voila!  Enjoy the creamy texture of this satisfying concoction.  

 

In this recipe you are getting milk and cream for calcium and fat, eggs for protein and fruit and sugar for carbs. By the way, most store-bought ice cream contains emulsifiers like carrageenan and guar gum and sweeteners like corn syrup and also include ingredients like natural flavors which may contain excitotoxins which affect the neurons in your brain. 

 

This homemade ice cream can be a nourishing meal substitute or snack for you or your child and as a bonus, not only will you be saving money, you will be healthier!

 

We highly recommend the Ninja Creami ice cream maker for ease and convenience, but there are many brands that do the same thing.
